Cherry Electrical Products, founded in 1953, was acquired by the ZF Group in 2008. The well-known Cherry microswitch and sensor brand will be continued under the umbrella of ZF Friedrichshafen AG and will also be marketed under this brand. The product portfolio will gradually be expanded beyond microswitches to include electronic controls, such as touch controls based on infrared technology for the household appliance industry, as well as sensors.

ZF switches, control devices and sensors are synonymous with quality, precision and reliability in a wide variety of applications and markets. Their applications range from home and electrical appliances to vehicles, gaming and vending machines, drives, switching and control devices and power tools.

With considerable development resources and extensive manufacturing expertise, a wide range of products is offered, from standard components to customised, complex mechatronic solutions or electronic controls.

The combination of forward-looking production processes meeting the very highest quality standards with a management system certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000,14001:2005 and ISO/TS 16949:2002 has already been recognised with several renowned business awards.

Product responsibility and use of ingredients
Following the extensive exclusion of the use of lead, cadmium, chromium (VI), mercury and some flame retardants in the wake of the RoHS Directive, the REACH Regulation has laid down comprehensive new requirements for substances in products. In this context, the obligation to provide information on substances of very high concern under REACH plays a central role for manufacturers of articles. These substances have been available for consultation on the website of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) since 28.10.2008 as part of the so-called candidate list and are updated regularly. Therefore, the task of checking whether ZF products contain one of these substances is an ongoing process. If ZF identifies one of these substances in its products via the supply chain, this triggers a substitution process.

Quality
ZF ensures consistently high quality at every stage of production, in every product line, with the utmost care and attention, backed by constant new investments. With its many years of experience and in-depth know-how, ZF goes out of its way to meet customer needs.

Certificats

Quality and environmental protection are firmly anchored in the minds of ZF employees.
