Switches and sensors for military applications

In military and aerospace equipment - on the ground, in the air or above the earth's atmosphere - everything can be mission-critical, from the smallest simple switch to intelligent sensor assemblies.

Honeywell's simple switches have been widely used in military equipment since World War II, and they have expanded their product line to become one of the world's largest suppliers of military and aerospace components. The switches and sensors are widely used in vehicles, aircraft and many types of weapon systems and meet military specifications, stringent environmental standards and the most demanding customer-specific test requirements.

Honeywell offers a comprehensive portfolio of standardized and highly customizable electromechanical devices and sensors for sensing pressure, particulates, torque, gases and temperature in a variety of installations, including designs for integration into next-generation assemblies. The intelligent devices expand diagnostic capabilities and provide advanced measurements for the most demanding applications.

Military drone solutions

"The increase in government funding for military drones to increase the efficiency of military operations is driving demand for the production of military drones." According to the report published by the Bard College Center for the Study of the Drone, US Navy funding for unmanned systems increased by $1 billion (38%) in 2019 and US Army funding increased by $719 million (73%) compared to 2018. The global military drone market is expected to grow from $13.3 billion in 2021 to $14.2 billion in 2022, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.6%.

Military vehicle solutions

Military ground vehicles have to prove themselves under extreme terrain and weather conditions. They are often exposed to high or low temperatures as well as dirty and dusty environments, and are subject to heavy shocks and vibrations during their missions. The global armored vehicles market is expected to grow from USD 18.1 billion in 2021 to USD 27.8 billion in 2028, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.36% during the forecast period 2021-2028, bringing it back to pre-pandemic levels.

Helicopter solutions

Salt, sand and ice can affect the efficiency and reliability of a linear actuator. Sealed sensors and switches can keep the elements out and keep the lift gate performing at its best. Honeywell offers expertise in component design and products for the most complex aerospace and defense systems. Honeywell's products and expertise are highly complementary to system and subsystem designs. The military helicopter market is also growing, and is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of more than 4% during the forecast period (2022-2027).
