Profile housing made of extruded aluminum

In addition to the general-purpose 1455 Series, Hammond manufactures 3 special variants of extruded aluminum enclosures: the waterproof 1457 is sealed to IP65; the 1457-EMI offers increased EMC capability for use in electrically noisy environments; and the 1455HD offers improved heat dissipation for high-power applications. They all share a number of features with the 1455 series: they are designed to accommodate single or multiple PCBs mounted horizontally in the internal slots of the enclosure and are also suitable for housing small electronic, electrical or pneumatic systems or components.

The 1455 series has also been extended to include square profiles, which offer a much greater height for mounting multiple PCBs for distributed subsystems and/or larger electrical and electromechanical components. Another addition to the 1455 series is the 1455F, which features a completely new profile with a flat base and integrated mounting flanges that protrude above the housing to facilitate mounting.

1457 Series

For applications requiring protection against dust and water, the 1457 series is designed for IP65 protection. It is available in 15 sizes from 80 x 59 x 31mm to 280 x 191 x 68mm, with a clear or black finish. The end plates are made of die-cast aluminum and are available with or without a flange for mounting the housing. A self-adhesive seal ensures IP65 protection.
